Stoeckles and Binders A Family History: Based on the Eleonora Binder and John Stoeckle Family

This family history spans 10 generations as we traced each of the ancestral lines for Eleonora Binder and John Stoeckle. We reached as far back as the early 1700s in some of our family lines from places such as Austria, Bavaria, Germany, Prussia and Württemberg. Our families came to North America in the 1800s with many going to current day Ontario, Canada and Michigan. Some of our families went back and forth over the border for several years but there is one main link connecting all of these families, Huron County, Michigan. This is where most of our families either stopped along the way or ended up. The anchor for most of us in Huron County is the Stoeckle Family Homestead which reached its Sesquicentennial in 2025.Our ultimate goal for this book has been to share our family’s history.
